Week 2 Integrative Learning: Scanning Your Resume

The purpose of this activity is to get an understanding how to work through job descriptions and our resumes to make sure we are applying to the right jobs and getting those interview call backs.

As detailed oriented as I am or so I thought based on my JobScan Results, I continue to revise my resume and compare job descriptions to the resume while really making sure I take my time tweaking the resume to fit the job description that I know I am capable of doing when I get the job.

It really shouldn't be so difficult to get our resumes to meet the job qualifications, yet sometimes it feels like one needs a rocket scientist degree to get it together - when in fact it really isn't as complicated as we are making it out to be.

Overall, I really need to take time, have patience when working on my resume and make sure to pay that extra attention to the littlest details of how keys words are formatted on job descriptions. If I say and believe all the time that I am detailed oriented and I show it in my work, and not show it in my resume no one will believe that I am the detailed oriented that I am and will be in their company. Always working to improve my confidence in making sure that keywords match between the two (resume and description) will get me accomplished to where I want to be.
