Content Development and Enhancement

The purpose of this activity was to pay a visit into past class project assignments, along with each feedback that was given and do any necessary edits. Afterwards post on my Portfolio Site:

Part 1: Content Review

Before photos:

The three projects I revisited to make necessary edits to them, was the Mouse Trap Mini Golf logo I had created in the Graphic Design And Communications course, the Reel Deal Fish Taco Website I had created in Editing for the Web; and lastly the ad for Reel Deal Fish Tacos, from Editing for the Web as well. (These photos are the before copies, the edited version can be found on my Portfolio Site:

Through out the different months in each course, there was much great feedback every week on these projects that I highly value. Each had their own, yet thinking back and looking at each project at the moment in front of me, there are similar feed-backs that I could easily edit. Seems I keep doing certain things in all my projects that I know I need to break that habit to really succeed in my career.

In Graphic Design and Communications the skills I learned to showcase in my logo work was the big four: Contrast, Repetition, Alignment, and Proximity = C.R.A.P. In Editing for The Web, the skills I had learned to showcase in my fictitious website and ad works was taking what I learned from Graphic Design, which was a great benefit when put together with Web Development/Design. other skills in Editing for The Web, I achieved it writing a proposal and designing an outline before the fun process of actually putting a clients information and creating details on a site that will begin to generating traffic and keep clients coming back and checking out whats new and where this Taco Truck could be located on a given day.

THREE specific changes I would like to change with these revision, I think my Mouse Trap Mini Golf logo really just needs a bit of alignment change because the M's are a tad close to each other in the original photo. The Ad for Reel Deal Fish Tacos, I would like to possibly lower the transparency of the background a bit so the photo shows more and it doesn't look hazy. As for the Reel Deal Fish Tacos fictitious website, I would like to do multiple changes. I can't remember too much the feedback off of that, yet from what I remember and looking at the site, I know exactly what I need to do. A lot of simple touches that I should of never missed in the first place, which it would of not been good had it been a real client.

These projects are relevant to my professional goals simply by knowing even just the basics of knowing how to create logos, ads, business cards, websites I can begin to be set to get out there work with anyone looking to begin a small business, and will help with beginning to promote those small businesses throughout social media and word of mouth, which will help promote my brand.

Part 2: Content Revision:

After Photos:

The revision that I made based on my goals above, were very simple for the two after photos on your right... For the Reel Deal Fish Tacos Ad, I edited it by changing transparency layer; I originally had the the whole ad completely filled, and in my edit I decided to create a bit of a frame filled transparent layer and lower the opacity from the original 40% to 25%. I'm excited to have the text still inside the layer.

The revision that I made on Mouse Trap Mini Golf logo based on my goals above, were also quite simple. All I felt I really needed was to disconnect the two M's a bit without having it look like there was too much space in-between the business name. I like the way the M's look, I'm still a bit skeptic on that spacing; although I really do like the new look than the original I had created.

Here is the link for the Reel Deal Fish Tacos Website. The revision based on my goals above for this project was a quite more than simple. Although majority of the edits were little tidbits here and there, from the original submission, it now looks so much better after these edits. The overall edits made were adding a full header and footer, making sure that each page looked alike without gaps between the header/footer and the center contents. Also I recalled a feedback of adding the contact number to the header; therefore with today's new trend about skipping lines and ordering ahead, I created a catchy little line, "Skip the lines, Order Ahead" and added the phone number below. I believe that is quite genius, that I am very content with the revised look.
